The Cleaner – A 7 Day Detox Review

Hey Tribe! After polling my IG and FB family I had a lot of people state their interest in hearing how The Cleaner 7 Day Detox went for me. A good amount of people stated that they heard about it one way or another and wanted to know if it actually works. Well- that’s what this post is for… let’s get into it!

For starters, this is a detox that literally cleans anything internally worth cleaning. It’s like going to get your car detailed, but for the inside of your body. The Cleaner claims to cleanse your colon, liver, skin, yeast, urinary, kidneys, toxins, blood, lungs, and stomach. This is considered to be the ultimate body detox to remove waste pounds. While it says it’s primary purpose is to remove waste pounds, there were so many other benefits that I experienced during and after this detox. They have a 7 day detox for women and a 7 day detox for men. They also have a 14 day detoxes, but I do not recommend those for reasons listed below.

The Rundown

Before I get into the benefits, let me give you a quick rundown on what the day-to-day process actually looks like. The bottle consists of 52 capsules and you are expected to take 4 capsules on the evening of your first day. The 2nd through 7th day you then take 4 capsules in the morning and 4 capsules in the evening. It also states that you NEED to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water per day and it claims that this should be a “comfortable” process. To me, this means that you won’t be unpredictably running to the restroom and then when you get there you’re basically peeing out your poop. The Cleaner says, if your stool becomes watery and/or if you experience cramping you should stop taking it until your stool solidifies and restart, but with less capsules (1-2 per dose). Lastly, it states that you SHOULD NOT take these pills past 7 days and I assume it because anything past 7 days would become toxic to your body.

How It Went For Me

I’m going to lead into this saying, this detox was amazing! Despite what I felt, how I felt, or how uncomfortable it made me… it was completely worth it. I started the detox on a Monday evening and completed it on Sunday evening. On the first night, after taking the first dose (four pills), the pills began working within the next two hours. The first two nights I experienced bad cramps and watery stool. I’ve never been one to cramp during menstruation and etc., so when I experience cramps I literally feel like the world is caving in on me. I say that to say, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being extremely painful – I’d vote an 8.0, but someone else may vote a 6.5. I was also up routinely at 3am on the first two days basically crying on the toilet and I won’t say that in these instances I was being dramatic… it really hurt! With that said, the cramps were not on-going at all. I cramped within the first 5 minutes of needing to go to the bathroom and then 5-7 minutes after going to the bathroom. It was one of those things that just let you know that it was about to go down, but I thugged it out which lets you know that it isn’t unbearable at all.

Side note- I actually used this remedy I was taught about 4 years ago to relieve my cramps. I kept rubbing alcohol on my night stand and when I cramped I would rub it in my hands, on my stomach, and would sniff it. IT WORKS!

To me it made sense that my body reacted this way initially. The pills spent the first 2-3 days getting rid of what was already in my body at a very high level. It felt like the pills entered into my system, pulled guns out, and said “everybody get the f*** out right now!!!!” I thugged it out because I really wanted to clean my system out and it was completely worth it. Days 4-7 I was okay; my bowel movements were more predictable and while they weren’t completely solid, they were definitely not as watery as before.

Is It Actually Comfortable?

The Cleaner states that it is comfortable – again, meaning that you won’t be seeking a bathroom asap. So here’s the thing, it was comfortable but in the sense that you knew you had a smooth 20-25 minutes to find a safe place and release (the first 2-3 days). I was always lucky enough to be in a place where I felt comfortable enough to go. In my opinion, I think the pill schedule sets you up to need to go when you wake up and when you get home from work, but depending on your diet this could easily not be the case. During days 4-7 it was absolutely comfortable. At this point, the pills have removed all of the disgusting stuff from my body so it was working solely based on what I put into the temple. Eating well and drinking your water is an absolute must. If you don’t eat well during the detox then it defeats the purpose of detoxing at all.

Do You Need To Drink 8-10 Glasses of Water?

Yes! You need to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. The water helps with the flushing and detox process. These pills actually made me a bit dehydrated so there were days when I drank much more than 8-10 glasses per day. This was just off the strength that my body was asking me to feed it water. The good thing about drinking all of this water is that it made me feel full. So I didn’t eat very much and when I did eat I got full pretty fast. Either that or I was scared to eat because I knew that as soon as it entered my body those pills would be giving them an eviction notice.

Should You Exercise While Detoxing?

I did! I went hard too. I mean, why not? You’re cleaning your body out so what better way than to put your largest organ (skin) to use by ridding some of those toxins via sweat. To me, it made more sense for me to exercise than not. I felt light on my feet, I felt much more clarity about my fitness goals, and I felt healthy inside and out. Of course, you don’t have to exercise while detoxing but I recommend it. As always, if you choose to exercise be sure to drink plenty of water. These pills are removing a lot out of your body at once – including water. You should do your best to make sure that you are putting as much H2O back into it as possible. If not, you run the risk of suffering from dehydration which is not healthy – especially in this summer heat.

The Final Results

I lost a total of 6 lbs while doing this 7 day detox. I’m both happy and disgusted by it honestly. To think that there was 6 lbs of gunk in my body was an eye-opener in itself. I received so many compliments in the past 7 days about how I was noticeably a tad bit smaller and one even came from my mom which is very surprising (she didn’t know I was doing this detox until after the compliment). Not only that, but my skin flourished, honey! I’m talking about “I just got a new boo and we can’t get enough of each other” type of glow. I was lighter on my feet and my mind was more sharp. You’d be surprised at how much clarity a detox can bring into your life. You may think that you are only clearing your body, but that toilet time gives you a good amount of time to clear your mind as well. All in all, I highly recommend it. However, as with all things, please remember that everyone reacts to things differently and what worked for me may not work for you!
