Don’t Forget Your Gift This Christmas!

Christmas 2020

I thoroughly enjoy all that December has to offer because it allows us to reflect, release, give to others, spread joy, and be merry with loved ones. This year has been a long, challenging, and exhaustive one. We’ve lost so much – Kobe Bryant, Chadwick Boseman, 325k Americans, 1.72M people worldwide, the comfort of visiting with close family and friends, many have lost their jobs, their homes, and unfortunately so much more. This year has taken a lot from us as a whole and individually. We’ve had to quickly pivot and adopt a “new norm.” I don’t know how different 2021 will look, but it feels good to step into a new season with hope despite the uncertainty.

Before we step into this new season, it’s imperative to refill what we’ve poured out. The holiday season is a season of giving to others, but because we’ve given so much of ourselves to all things we’ve enduring this year I want to challenge you to think about what you’ll be gifting yourself. I know that you’ll spend some time gifting to others, but don’t forget your gift! Whether it be something tangible (like new AirPods or a lipstick set) or intangible (like sleep or forgiveness), you deserve it! The same love, attention, affection, and gifts that you so freely give to others you need to give to yourself also. Dead batteries don’t work and low batteries are ineffective so make sure you take some time to recharge and refuel so that we can step into this season ready to walk in our purpose!

This year I got myself the new AirPods, some new makeup products, a few pairs of boots, patience, forgiveness, kindness, rest, and a quick 2-day trip! What tangible or intangible gifts are you gifting yourself this year?! I’d love to know!
