5 Ways I Plan To Jumpstart My New Year

I took some time to map out what I want my 2021 to look and feel like and this will undoubtedly be my busiest and best year yet. Between work, school, blogging, and everything else that I juggle, I’ll have my hands full. You’re likely familiar with the quote, “to whom much is given, much is required,” and I’m sure this year will require much from me which is why it’s imperative that I jumpstart my new year by setting the tone for the remainder of the year.

At this point we can all agree that New Years Resolutions are so 2001, right? But you know what will never get old? Starting a new year off with a clear vision, a clean body, and a sense of purpose. In order to achieve this, I’ve decided to jumpstart my new year by doing the 5 things below! Once you’ve read the article, let me know what you’ll be doing to get your year started on the right foot!

For the record, I start classes on January 11th so a few of these won’t be implemented until January 10th!

Visualization and Manifestation!

The first thing I’ve done to jumpstart my new year is writing out my goals, adding to my vision book (I don’t have a vision board, I have a book that I add to each year), setting my budget, and taking time to envision who I am but also who I want to become. I’ve spent time thinking about the road I will need to travel to get there and the vehicles that will take me to my desired destination. I’ve manifested and spoken these things into my life. I’ve written them in places that I can see often to remind myself of where I am headed. This year will be amazing and I have no doubt about that, but I know that it won’t be easy. During times when it isn’t easy, I will refer back to any and every place where I saw it and believed it so that I can remind myself of who I am and all that I can and will accomplish.

Detoxing My Body

When my body is clean so are my thoughts and actions. I detox my body regularly, but especially at the beginning of each year. When my body isn’t clean I feel like crap and detoxing not only gets rid of unwanted pounds but also boosts my mood, energy, memory, and so much more!

We all know that I’m a huge fan of The Cleaner detox pills. If you aren’t aware of how this detox works you can read my review here. In addition to these pills, I’ll be doing a 20-day water diet with the exception of hot tea (green/black with lemon). That’s right – no coffee at all. PRAY FOR ME! haha. My eating habits will see a major shift as well, but I talk about that a bit down below! #whole30hottie

Creating A Rough Schedule

Again, to whom much is given, much is required – which includes the amount of time and energy that will be required of me. Time management and organization will be imperative to my success so I’ve spent some time creating an overarching schedule that will allow me to be effective with my weekdays from beginning to end. The overall purpose of this is to start the year with the mindset that I will continue to build better habits – even if it means writing them into my schedule. One of my major goals this year is to learn how to meditate, but I have to create a space for me to learn this habit. Creating a schedule helps me create a plan to do just that! Here’s an example of what my overarching schedule looks like this week.

I’ll be honest, I need to figure out how to work sleep into my schedule – but that’s a beast I’ll deal with later this year. Either that or at some point when I graduate! LOL!

Shifting How I Speak To Myself

This year I will be intentional about the thoughts that I allow to seep into my mind and the way that I choose to ridicule myself. I’ll be jumpstarting my new year with a 30-day positivity challenge (Jan 10 – Feb 10). Every day, for 30 days, I will say something kind and positive to myself by writing it into a calendar slot. I encourage you to try it with me. The way we speak to ourselves matters and sometimes I can be a bit harsh. I don’t want to do that to myself this year. I want to break this habit completely – so I’ll be jumpstarting the year by intentionally speaking to myself with kindness. I’ve included a download for you to use! It’s January and February! All you have to do is write something kind to yourself every day. Stick it on your bathroom mirror so that you don’t forget. Ex: “You are smart, beautiful, and blessed.” It’s that simple! Affirmations if you may.

Whole 30 is back!

I am a #whole30hottie! I love love love this program for so many reasons. I did it back in September 2020 and learned so much about myself, my body, the food that I put into it, and how it impacts me as a whole. This aligns with detoxing because I’ll be nixing out all the bad and only putting into my temple what’s meant to be there – WHOLE FOODS! This program really makes you take time to look at ingredient labels, which forces you to know what’s on your plate all the way down to each and every seasoning. In September, I dropped nearly 15 lbs on Whole 30 and my goal was never to lose weight. I’m so excited to start it up again – it’s the perfect way to focus on my health and wellness goals for Q1. This program will not only jumpstart my new year but will jumpstart every other health and wellness goal I plan to meet!
