Dallas, Texas: Staying At The Statler

I had the pleasure of staying at The Statler in Dallas, Texas during Memorial Day weekend and I’ll lead into this post by stating that I was overly impressed. I was impressed by the precautions that they are taking due to COVID-19 as well as the top tier customer service that was provided. From the moment that I arrived until the moment I closed my door to depart, all of the hotel staff were attentive, friendly, and accommodating.

The Statler is located in the heart of Downtown off of Commerce Street. It sits across the street from a large park that seems to be really popular! I did a little research and they have festivals and mini-concerts there often! I didn’t get to explore the area in detail, but there are many eateries and etc. nearby being that it is located in the heart of Downtown Dallas.

The Statler has a beautiful rooftop pool that visitors can also enjoy. The pool was not open due to COVID-19 guidelines, but guests were more than welcome to lounge on the rooftop! They also have a restaurant, Overeasy, located inside of the hotel. I didn’t get the chance to indulge, but I heard guests speaking highly of their meal while standing near the elevators.

Upon my arrival, the bellman was very kind, energetic, and informative. He not only walked me up to my room, but also unloaded my Specs bag, went to get a large copper tub, and placed my drinks on ice. Every instance thereafter the Statler staff was accommodating. I had a lawn chair in my trunk but didn’t want to carry it up to my room before my ride came to get me. They held the lawn chair downstairs for me on multiple occasions. I had friends drop things off at the hotel for me and they held it with no questions asked. It was refreshing to receive such amazing customer service!!

The Statler did an amazing job screening hotel visitors prior to entry. By amazing I mean that they were consistent and serious about the guidelines put in place. Anyone who expected to enter the hotel was required to give their full name and have their temperature taken. All employees wore masks and gloves, including valet. The pool was closed, the restaurant operated at 25-50% and hotel staff did not let bystanders gather in the foyer.

The added bonus of staying at The Statler Dallas is that they are a part of the Hilton Honors network. Therefore, if you are a Hilton Honors member you get points for staying!! You can also use points that you have already accumulated to stay at The Statler!

The overall rating of my stay is a 10 and I don’t hand those out easily! The Statler will be seeing me again!

Price Breakdown at The Statler Dallas

My 3 day, 2-night stay cost me approximately $140/night. I also paid $36/night for parking. However, you can park on the street located in front of the hotel and pay the City fee instead. It’s a matter of which you’d rather deal with and because I’d be in and out of my car I chose the valet service. Finding parking on Downtown streets is unpredictable. In addition to those costs, they also hold $100 for incidentals but return the money to your account following your stay. Parking was my incidental so the $36/night fee was pulled from the $100 on hold. None of this includes cash tips that were given to the bellmen and valet.
