The Point of It All…

Like many 20-something year olds, I enjoy tequila, brunching, and becoming a better me. Juggling professionalism, ratchetism, and tequilism have become my specialty skills, but even with that my eyes remain on the prize. And I am sure many of you can relate!

I am a 25 year old, round-the-clock public health professional; meaning the work towards achieving health equity never stops! In addition to my full-time gig, I am also studying for my Doctorate of Public Health (DrPH). Much of my time, outside of school and work, is spent socializing; traveling; serving my community; and living an unprocessed and unapologetic lifestyle.

The anxiety of starting a blog has held me back for more than a year now. Like any new thing we begin I felt feelings of fear, anxiety, and confusion. If I could have snapped my fingers and had everything in place, I would have. However, it turns out, anything worth doing takes time, patience, and passion. So, here I am. Finally taking the first step of what I hope will be a beacon of inspiration, empowerment, and education for many others. I, too, am here to learn. This is a platform not just for me, but for others like me. Individuals who tether on the line of sophisticated and ratchet; you know- sophistiratchets.

For many years, professionals have been expected to live within the parameters that society has placed around us and like many other new aged business professionals, I absolutely refuse to do such a thing. I plan to live the life that I want, even if that means creating it for myself. And you should too! This is why the UNPROCESSED blog is so important.

Human’s like myself excite me and I am admire them greatly. Go-getters. People who will go and get what they want, what they deserve, and what they need to be the very best version of themselves.

I am so excited to bring a platform that empowers, informs, and encourages us to live an unprocessed life. That being said, here we go!!

I want to genuinely thank everyone that has supported and helped me with the launch of this blog. Thank you to my photographer and his team, StreetsLoveUs (@streetsloveus); the Unprocessed Advisory Committee (Shelby Barb, Christin Lee, and Tola Etti); my family who has always encouraged me to be the best version of myself; my mentor(s) who continuously push me towards my goals; my friends for encouraging me to blog; and any and everyone who served as an inspiration or resource to me in any way.

So relatable and REAL! I am so proud of you! I’m so excited to share this my clients!
Especially since your such a positive, well rounded person in their 20’s being so transparent about their life & life in general is so inspiring on so many levels. Teaching us that you don’t have to be what society tells you . You can be “sophistiratchet” and still be everything and then some. You’ll have us laughing, crying but most importantly you’ll give us hope and motivation!!!!! This is going to be EPIC!!! I can’t expres how proud of i am of you!!!! Keep it up, love you!!!
