Self-Discipline is the Key To Good Health

Unprocessed Lifestyle, self-discipline is the key to good health
Don’t feel like reading? No worries! I’ve got you covered. Listen here!

Self-discipline is the epitome of Me vs. Me. I’ve said, and I’ll continue to say, that we are our own worst enemies. We are not in competition with others. Instead, we are in competition with ourselves. We are in competition with our laziness, our procrastination, and our will power – or lack thereof. In other words, we are in competition with our self-discipline. Having self-discipline is a mental and physical superpower. It is a life hack that allows you to have control over yourself – your actions, behaviors, habits, and reactions. Self-discipline is the key to good health.

When you think about self-discipline, think taking initiative, think setting limits, and think avoiding bad habits. The application of self-discipline in your life looks like intentional living. Self-discipline is completing each rep in a workout without having your trainer watch over you. It is drinking water instead of soda because you know it is the healthier option. Even when you would really love to feel the snap, fizzle, pop roll down your throat. Self-discipline is choosing to cook at home instead of buying takeout. It is about will power, inner strength, and self-control.

Practicing self-discipline starts with your drive and determination. Why do you want to form a habit? Why do you want to finish what you started? Why do you want to push yourself harder? In order to succeed at self-discipline, you have to know your WHY! Self-discipline is hard work, but mastering self-restraint and self-control is what you need to turn your health goals into accomplishments. I’ve stated that self-discipline is the key to good health, but it is also beneficial to other parts of your life as well. Lack of self-discipline will keep you from meeting your physical, professional, and even your financial goals time and time again. Tap into your self-discipline and many parts of your life will change for the better.
