I feel as though I’m on a constant journey to ensure that I wake up every day and choose to chase a better life than the one I lived a year ago, three years ago, or even yesterday. There are three key things that work well for me in this quest to chase a better life and I am sharing them here with you!
Focus on being in good health
So many focus on being a certain size or looking a certain way, but being in good health consists of so much more. Yes of course it includes being physically healthy, but I’m not just talking about that aspect of health. I, very much so, am also referring to your health from a holistic viewpoint. Yes, you’re in shape, but is your body healthy? How is your immune system? Do you take vitamins, probiotics, sea moss, elderberry? How is your mental health? Do you know how to handle stress? Have you identified your triggers? What about your financial health? Are you saving? Preparing for rainy days – or years like 2020?
Being in good health is more than just what appears at the surface level. The benefits associated with being healthy are also clutch when it comes to being a high-performer or showing up as your very best self no matter where you are.
Practice gratitude
When I focus on being thankful for the things that I have instead of the things that I don’t have, the way that I show up for myself and others looks dramatically different. My perspective is different and it shows in how I communicate, how I act, and how I feel. Practicing gratitude is taking what you have and making it enough.
This doesn’t negate the fact that I am continually working towards the life that I desire, but it means that I am also thankful for the life that I’ve created. Without a doubt, I am nowhere near the woman that I once was and I am nowhere near the woman that I want to become. However, I am THANKFUL for every part of my journey and every nuance along the way.
Insist on becoming a better version of yourself
Last, but certainly not least, insist on growing and evolving as a person. Each level of your life will require a different version of yourself. In knowing that, your success will be highly dependent on how you show up for your future every single day. The way that you invest your time and energy will be directly reflected in your measures of success in the near and far future.
If I’m being honest, I don’t always show up with my game face on and that’s okay. What’s important is that I am always willing to put my best foot forward MOST of the time. Success does not just fall into our laps – it takes hard work and dedication. Big things happen when we change our lives and put forth an intentional effort to chase a better life.
